This week at the Pendulum it was Halloween! One of my main responsibilities this week was designing The Swing Ad on page 2 in addition to an infographic for The Swing on page 8. I also designed page 13 and the Diwali story. Check out the entire paper on Issuu.

This week I designed the teaser at the top of Page 1, including the logo for The Swing (the Pendulum’s new webcast). On page 14, I designed the headline for the Woods of Terror article, as well as the advertisement for The Swing at the bottom of the page. I also stylized the One on One Sports headline on page 20. Sept. 11 Multimedia Website

I had the opportunity to design the multimedia page for our Sept. 11 edition of The Pendulum. It was based off of the Freedom Tower being built where the World Trade Center Towers stood. Jeff Stern animated the page and made it live on the website. View the page at http://bit.ly/EPsept11

Design Editor for the Pendulum

This semester I have began working for the Pendulum. My first project was to design the sports insert for our first edition. It is a magazine insert instead of a traditional newspaper design. The front page of the insert was created in Photoshop, and the rest was laid out using InDesign.

Robin Lambe who has been with Joe Gibbs Racing since the beginning provided a woman’s point of view to the past twenty years. Redskins and Racecars

This past week Coach Joe Gibbs had a reunion celebration with the Redskins from when he coached the team in the 80s and early 90s. The event included golfing and a trip to the racetrack with some of JGR’s drivers. I was responsible for photographing the event. Interning here at Joe Gibbs Racing has been an exciting experience. One project that I was able to help with was the latest webisode of “The Show.” It is a fun look inside what is going on here at JGR.
